Meet the AgriNerds Team
Our founding team where our underlying technology was incubated was a group of top researchers at UC Davis and the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine (the #1 Veterinary School in the World from 2014-2018 per the QS World University Rankings). Our group of data scientists, engineers, software developers, epidemiologists and veterinarians have considerable experience in the application of various machine learning based approaches to predict food safety and production efficiency for livestock and poultry farmers.
MAURICE PITESKY
CEO
After completing veterinary school Maurice completed a post graduate degree in epidemiology. Using those skills he eventually became a faculty member at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where his research focused on poultry health and food safety epidemiology. Maurice is keen to explore the predictive ability of various machine learning approaches for both food safety and production efficiency in multiple agricultural fields
ROBERTO CARRASCO
CFO
Roberto is a veterinarian and our principal data scientist. Roberto has experience and interest in data management, epidemiology, software, statistics and poultry science. His expertise is in applying machine learning and other advanced statistics on agricultural data. Roberto is bilingual (English and Spanish)

TODD KELMAN
Swiss-Army Knife and Necromancer
After finishing an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, Todd spent ten years developing scientific and medical imaging devices. He went back to graduate school to study veterinary medicine and epidemiology, and has since split his time between clinical veterinary medicine and research, and now enjoys applying data visualization, statistical modeling and machine learning approaches to solving big problems in animal agriculture.
JOSEPH GENDREAU
Data Scientist / Engineer
Joseph is a graduate from UC Davis in Electrical Engineering. He spent time developing power and low voltage systems in the AEC industry before returning to UC Davis to work in technology applications for epidemiological research and extension for poultry at the School of Veterinary Medicine. With his experience in software development and device interfacing Joseph leads our efforts IT efforts with respect to server and database management and connectivity. Joseph is bilingual (English and French).
TRISTAN BOND
Data Scientist / Engineer
Tristan is a graduate from UC Davis in Mechanical Engineering. Tristan has experience in programming and is working with our data analysis team on studying and implementing various machine learning techniques. Tristan is also bilingual (English and Japanese).
